“If you can’t fly, then run,
if you can’t run, then walk,
if you can’t walk, then crawl,
but whatever you do,
you have to keep moving forward.” ~Martin Luther King, Jr.
Today is the celebration of Dr. King’s life. I hope you had an opportunity last week to see the events going on that celebrate the peace he represented and the inspiration to become better people, that he inspired.
As always in and around West Cobb, there is plenty to do. If you missed out on wine tasting last week, don’t despair!! You can still participate on Wednesdays (from 5-7pm) or Saturdays (frp, 2-4 pm) at the Marietta Wine Market.
While some of the days are still a bit chilly, if you put on a warm coat and grab your roller blades or bikes, your whole family can get out an ride the paths of the Silver Comet trail. A total of 12.6 miles, you can pick up this paved path in different spots in Smyrna, Marietta, and Powder Springs. You can even rent bikes at some of the entry points or just plan a day of leisurely walking.
If you’re in the mood for a hike or run with varying landscapes, you could go up the picturesque Kennesaw Mountain Battlefield and get some history along the way.
It’s often a bustle of activity in Marietta Square with all the shops, restaurants, occasional festivals, plays at The Strand or Marietta Playhouse, spring through fall farmer’s markets, and summer concert series, this is a perfect place for the family or a date.
